2026: The year workplace culture finally takes centre stage #1

The workforce is losing patience and loyalty is a double-edged sword

Many employees today have options. They’ve seen flexible working. They’ve known people who have set up on their own. They’ve tasted or heard about what a healthy culture could feel like. The expectations are ever-higher.

When people feel undervalued or unsupported, they seldom complain, they simply move or go through the motions. Either outcome impacts morale and productivity.

Quiet quitting, career pivots and side-hustle-first mindsets are all symptoms of the same cultural gap: unmet motivators. And this gap can impact upon employees who stay with the organisation too; which can confuse what is staying put and what is loyalty?

In 2026, organisations that fail to address this gap will bleed talent (either by leaving or becoming unproductive). Those that do address will become magnets for it.

The first step is to understand what motivates your people to come to work. The rest of the steps are to fulfil this.

Thousands of people lavish praise on Simon Sinek and his 'start with why'. But what have you actually done about it?

Do get in touch if you'd like to discuss discovering the ‘why’ of your people.
