2026: The year workplace culture finally takes centre stage #4

Wellbeing isn’t a perk, it’s a performance requirement

The sensible message of ‘don’t treat the symptoms, cure the causes’ is sadly still not landing. One-off, tick-box activities still rule the wellbeing roost. But employees see right through it.

Wellbeing and performance aren’t competing priorities, they’re complementary. Just think of an Olympic athlete.

In 2026, the smart workplaces will stop treating wellbeing as an ‘initiative’, and start embedding it into:

- Employee experiences
- Workload design
- Leadership behaviour
- Autonomy
- Motivation alignment
- Culture norms

You shouldn’t need to shout about wellbeing because it should be baked into the day-to-day work experiences.

Do contact us if you'd like to discuss ‘baking-in’ wellbeing.
