Finding the next generation of innovators
Morgan were approaching their 30th anniversary and were looking for innovative ways to celebrate this landmark.
Morgan Innovation & Technology were founded in 1987 and have been providing R&D and Manufacturing services to product innovators with a particular focus on medical devices.
We initially undertook a brand experience strategy exercise with the board from which we established that the business was looking to diversify its portfolio beyond medical devices and was already investing up to 10% of its revenues in helping innovators bring their products to market.
As part of the strategy outcomes we recommended the creation of the MIAT Prize to support the need to diversify and give them access to a large pool of innovators as well as increasing awareness of the MIAT brand and their commitment to helping product inventors. The initial prize fund was set at £30,000 to recognise MIAT’s 30th anniversary.
We created the branding and collateral for the MIAT Prize and helped to secure Santander as a main sponsor and Jon Bentley from the gadget show as a brand ambassador for the prize. In the first 2 years of operation, the MIAT Prize has given Morgan access to over 200 product innovators and created huge awareness of the brand amongst the innovation community.
